Dear Sgambati family, Dr. Sgambati will live eternally for all the care he selflessly gave. He was a dedicated example for surgery, medicine and kindness. Dr.(s) Sgambati Sr. and Jr. we're my family doctors getting me through countless health issues. One in particular stands in my mind forever. He saved my life. In the stress of that illness he began to teach me how the organs of the body functioned and encouraged me to read the physiology in his text book and review the anatomy. He checked in with my on my high school reports on this teaching me more through discussion. He is the reason I became a Nurse and Nurse Practitioner. I teach every day and use his approach of coping through caring and inquiry teaching nurses and physicians. He knew us as people and families and treated each patient as a loyal friend.
