Obituary for Michael A. Taglione Sr.

STILLWATER - Michael A. Taglione, Sr, 80, of Clinton Court, died Thursday, Nov 30th, at home, in the safe and loving company of his devoted wife.
Born in Mechanicville, Jan. 31, 1937, son of the late Joseph and Carmela Peluso Taglione, Mike was a 1955 graduate of Mechanicville High School. He enlisted in the US Navy, served with the naval air squadron VP-18 in Jacksonville, Fla, honorably discharged in 1960.
A Lab tech for G.E.’s Silicone Products plant in Waterford for 23 years, retiring in 1999. A year later, Mike suffered a massive stroke, but with time, patience and a wife who cared for all his needs, Mike lived as normal of a life as possible. He didn’t miss out on most things, always with a smiling greeting and genuine warmth.
Years ago, Mike played guitar along with his brother, and played in several local bands.
A New York Yankee and Giant fan, Mike loved life, his family and friends.
Survivors include his faithful wife of 54 years, JoAnn Pignatelli Taglione, loving daughter Michele (Josh) Rosenthal of Long Valley, NJ and proud son Michael (Mike Wagner) Taglione, Jr. of Albany, three adored grandsons Sam, Teddy and Oliver Rosenthal, his brother Joseph (Gail) Taglione of Fla and sister Annemarie Boucher of Mechanicville.
Mike’s family give heartfelt thanks to Dr. Stephen Sgambati, Jr and staff, and Dr. Michael Purcell for their care, concern and compassion over the years. Also thanks to his family, neighbors and friends who have helped Mike and JoAnn when help was needed.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 AM on Tuesday, Dec 5th at All Saints on the Hudson Church (St. Paul’s) 121 No. Main St., Mechanicville. Burial to follow with military honors in St. Paul’s Cemetery.
Calling hours at the DeVito-Salvadore Funeral Home, 39 So. Main St., Mechanicville on Monday from 4-7 PM.
In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, in loving memory of Michael A. Taglione, Sr.
