MECHANICVILLE -James E. Heslin, 68, of Hemstreet Park, died suddenly at his home, Wed, Nov 15th, after being stricken.
Born in Hemstreet Park, Nov 29, 1948, son of the late Ray and Shirley Neaton Heslin, Jim was a 1966 graduate of Mechanicville High School. After school, Jim enlisted in the US Army and served in Germany, discharged in 1970.
A 30 years employee of G.E.’s Silicone Products Division in Waterford, he worked at the waste treatment facility, retiring on disability in 2002.
He enjoyed hunting, outdoor sports, and was forever seen sprucing up his property, alongside his wife.
A huge snowmobile enthusiast, Jim belonged to the Rensselaer County Snowriders Club, was a life member of the North American Hunting Club, and the Old Saratoga Muzzle Loading Club.
Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Rosemarie Coons Heslin, his son James E. (Cara) Heslin, Jr. of Huber Heights, Ohio, grandchildren Winter and Grayson Heslin, his sister Paula Zierak of Clifton Park, nephew Michael Zierak , other nieces, nephews and their families. Jim was also predeceased by his sister Dorothy “Dottie” Heslin and nephew James Zierak.
A Funeral Service will be held on Sunday at 4 PM at the DeVito-Salvadore Funeral Home, 39 So. Main St., Mechanicville. Calling hours will precede from 2-4 PM.
Burial services with military honors will be held on Monday at 10 AM at Saratoga National Cemetery. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the National Cemetery at 9:45 AM.
In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to a charity of one’s choice in memory of James E. Heslin.
