Obituary for Everett C. Folmsbee Jr.

MALTA - Everett C. “Butch” Folmsbee, Jr., 62, died Friday, Oct. 20th at Saratoga Hospital with his loving family by his side.
Born in Troy, March 9, 1955, son of the late Everett “Sonny” and Joan Wixted Folmsbee, Sr. After high school, Butch proudly served in the US Marine Corps from 1972-76.
Butch was a railroad Conductor for over 30 years before retiring in 2010 from the Boston & Maine / Springfield Terminal in Mechanicville.
A former member of the American Legion Post 490, Stillwater, Butch enjoyed working on cars, was a family handyman that enjoyed helping both family and friends. Butch was a beloved husband, father, and Papa. A proud man, devoted to his family.
Survivors include his wife of almost 40 years, Bianca Fitch Folmsbee, whom he married Dec 26, 1977. His children: Christopher E. (Rebecca “Samm”) Folmsbee of Latham, Julie (Daniel) Scott of Stillwater, Karen (Travis) Fitzgerald and Gregory C. Folmsbee both of Ballston Spa. Grandchildren: Zaidalyn Schiappa, Liana, Alexia, Ethan and Everett Folmsbee, Lily and Logan Scott, Zachary, Hailey and Chase Fitzgerald. Siblings: Susan (Keith) Kussius, Bonnie (Dave) McClements and Beth (John) Sheehan all of Stillwater, Geneva Finigan of Glens Falls, sister-in-law Cindy Folmsbee Attanasio of Ballston Lake, along with many nieces, nephews, and their families.
In addition to his parents, Butch was predeceased by his brother Scott, and nephews Jeffrey and David McClements.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday from 4-7 PM at the DeVito-Salvadore Funeral Home, 39 So. Main St., Mechanicville.
Inurnment services with military honors will be held on Thursday at 11 AM at Saratoga National Cemetery. Those wishing to attend, please arrive at the cemetery at 10:45AM
Butch’s family thanks Malta EMS, Malta Vets Assoc. and Saratoga Hospital for their care, concern and compassion for their loved one.
In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to either the Melodies Center at Albany Medical Center or the Malta Veterans Assoc, both in care of the Funeral Home.
