Obituary for William G. Uthe

William G.  Uthe
COHOES - William G. Uthe, 88, former Mechanicville area business man, died peacefully on Friday at Van Rensselaer Manor. Born in Schenectady, on April 3, 1929, he was the son of William and Katherine Hoffman Uthe.
A Nott Terrace High School graduate, William also attended Albany Business College.
A US Air Force veteran, William was a tax preparer for H & R Block for 49 years. He operated the first store in Mechanicville for many years. A member of the Singles Outreach Services program, he attended many of the events the program sponsored.
Survivors include his daughter Margaret J. Higgs of Mechanicville, son Paul R. Uthe of Cohoes, grandchildren Andrew, Nicholas, Matthew, Kathryn and Jennifer Higgs, great grandchildren Nathan and Marceline and a brother Edward of PA as well as nieces and nephews.
Please note correction to date of services. Calling hours will be held TUESDAY, September 26th from 5-7PM at the DeVito-Salvadore Funeral Home, 39 S Main Street, Mechanicville, NY 12118. Interment at the Saratoga National Cemetery will be held at a later date.
