Obituary for Jane Mihaly (Quivey)

GLENVILLE - Jane Mihaly, 81, of Stephen Rd., died peacefully on Saturday, August 19 at Albany Medical Center after a brief illness with her loving family by her side. Born in Schenectady on March 9, 1936, daughter of Raymond and Marjorie Vale Quivey, Sr, Jane was a graduate of Scotia-Glenville High School.

A homemaker most of her life, Jane, a caring and generous person, had volunteered for many years at Ellis Hospital as a caregiver and also as a clerk for the Hadassah Shop in Schenectady.

She enjoyed going to the gym and was previously an avid bowler. Also, she was a member of the Church of the Immaculate Conception in Glenville.

Sadly, Jane was predeceased by her sons Joseph Mihaly, III and Gary S. Mihaly, a great grandson Joey Mihaly and her brother Raymond Quivey, Jr.

Survivors include her husband of almost 64 years, Joseph Mihaly, Jr., whom she married on October 25, 1953, daughter Maryann and husband David Baker of Mechanicville, grandson Derek(Catherine) Mihaly, grandaughters Tamara Mihaly and Jessica Baker, great grandchildren Mila and Ava Mihaly and Evan Cucchi and sister Janet(Alan) MacHattie of KY and Nancy C. Quivey of Niskayuna along with nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours. Remembrances may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1 Penny Lane, Latham, NY 12110 or the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, P.O. Box 4527, New York, NY 10163 in loving memory of Jane Mihaly.
