Obituary for Francis W. Langdon

MECHANICVILLE - Francis William Langdon, 89, of Mid-Rise Apartments, died peacefully at home on August 8, 2017. Born in Stillwater, NY July 19, 1928, he was the son of Martin and Julia Farnan Langdon.
Frank served honorably with the US Army and was stationed in Germany until his discharge in 1952. Upon returning home, he began working for VESVACO Paper Company and remained there until the mill closed in 1971.
Frank enjoyed the many conversations he had with his family and friends, chatting about this or that but mostly the news of the day or politics. He was also an avid reader and always enjoyed the company of his “dog niece” Izzy.
Survivors include his sister Kathryn M. Yarter of Malta, his beloved nieces Julie(Stephen) Villeneuve, Kriste Yarter and Linda(Frank) Yarter-Van Norden as well as several other nieces and nephews.
Frank was predeceased by his siblings Sarah Bouchard, John “Jack” and Edward Langdon.
Funeral services are private with military honors and burial at the Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylerville.
Friends are asked that in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to the Northeast Dining and Lodging, Saratoga County Office for the Aging, 152 West High St., Ballston Spa, NY 12020 in memory of Francis W. Langdon.
