MECHANICVILLE -Larry (Lorenz) Werneburg, 65, died March 25, 2017 after a brief illness. Born 1952 to the late Albert and Elsie Werneburg of Stillwater, where he was raised. Larry is survived by his son Lorenz, his three brothers David (Beverly), Richard (Shirley), Michael (Cathy), his former wife Mary Beth Saunders and the Saunders family, along with his niece Laurie and nephew Kevin Werneburg. Throughout his life Larry volunteered with the Stillwater Rescue Squad and was honored as a Stillwater Citizen of the Year. He volunteered with Halfmoon Rescue Squad, Halfmoon Fire and Rescue.
Larry joined the NYS Army National Guard where he became a Combat Medic and proudly received several medals and commendations during his 6 years of service. He was a former employee of Schuyler Ridge Facility, ECT/Schlumberger Technologies and Freihofers Bakery.
