Obituary for Julia C. Wolske (Mohan)

MECHANICVILLE - Julia Catherine Mohan Wolske, 86, of the Mid-Rise Apts., died peacefully Wednesday March 1st at Samaritan Hospital with her loving family by her side, following a short illness. Born January 10, 1931 she was the daughter of the late Leo and Helen (Mehan) Mohan.
Julia was a nurse in the pediatric unit of Leonard Hospital and in 1952 she joined the US Navy and served honorably during the Korean War as a hospital corpsman until her discharge in 1954. She lived in Chicago for a short time where she worked as a teller for the Archer Federal Savings and Loan. Later in life, Julia found joy working as a cashier for the Quik-Serv Market and Deli in Stillwater for over 15 years.
She was a lifetime member of the Earl J. Manning American Legion Post 490 and All Saints on the Hudson Church, Stillwater. An avid follower of Chicago sports teams, Julia like many, can rest easy with a Cubs World Series win this past year. Above all else, she loved her children and grandchildren and was proud of all of their accomplishments.
Survivors include her children: Cynthia(Jeff) VanDerwerker, David(Susan), Henry “Hank” and Michael Wolske, grandchildren; Jessica(John Burchell) Moore, Danielle, Devin, Taylor and Nathaniel Wolske and Chris and Scarlett VanDerwerker, great grandchildren Ciara,Travis, Natalie, and Carter Burchell, sisters Sherri Dyer and Suzanne Yeager, several nieces, nephews and their families as well as her special friend and neighbor Sue Fields.
Calling Hours will be Monday from 11:30AM to 1:30PM at the DeVito-Salvadore Funeral Home, 39 S Main St, Mechanicville, NY 12118 with a funeral home service to follow starting at 1:30PM. Military honors and inurnment will follow at 3PM at the Saratoga National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Legion Post 490, 1 American Legion Rd, Stillwater, NY 12170 in loving memory of Julia Mohan Wolske.
