MECHANICVILLE - Carmella T. Verdile, 91, of William Street, died Monday morning at Diamond Hill Nursing and Rehabilitation Center after a long illness. Born in Italy, June 10, 1925, daughter of the late Dominick and Theresa Stasio Verdile, Carm and family came to Mechanicville when she was 4.
A Mechanicville High School graduate, Carm moved to San Jose, CA where she worked as a supervisor for several major corporations, and after retirement, moved back home to Mechanicville in 1997.
Carm loved to travel and visited many places throughout her life.
Survivors include her sisters Gloria Greene and Rose(Sylvester) Frydel, brothers Dominick(Benita) and Nicholas(Annette) Verdile, all of Mechanicville, as well as several nieces and nephews. Carm was predeceased by her sister Angela Chronert.
Carm’s family wishes to extend heartfelt thanks to the staff of Diamond Hill for the care and compassion given to their sister during her 6+ year stay there.
Services will be private and held at the convenience of the family. There will be no calling hours. Burial in the family plot at St. Paul’s Cemetery.
