Obituary for Gerald M. Oswitt

Gerald M.  Oswitt
MALTA - Gerald M. Oswitt, 75, died at home, Wednesday, Oct 5th. Born in Troy, Dec. 25th, 1940 son of the late Anthony and Mary Grozzo Oswitt, Gerry was a 1958 graduate of Mechanicville High School and 1962 grad of Siena College, who earned his Masters Degree from Union College in 1971. Gerry was a territorial manager for Exxon-Mobil for 35 years retiring in 2001. He had also worked for ALCO of Schenectady for short while. The owner of Garnet Stables Thoroughbred Racing, Gerry and family enjoyed the possible thrill of victory and agony of defeat in horse racing sports.
An active Union College Alumni and football booster, Gerry was a New England Patriots football fan. He was a member of Corpus Christi Church in Ushers.
Gerry enjoyed wintering in Florida with his wife and going to Gulfstream Park with his friends.
In addition to his parents, predeceased by his wife Marguerite Flanagan Oswitt and a son Michael Oswitt.
Survivors include his daughter Anne Curcurito of Ballston Spa, and son Gregory (Jennifer) Oswitt of Princeton, Mass, along with grandchildren Michael and Caitlyn Curcurito, Caroline, Christopher and Matthew Oswitt. A brother Richard (Jane) Oswitt of Gardnerville, Nevada and sister Nola Oswitt of Santa Monica, Ca, along with his Aunt Julie O’Brien of Schenectady, nieces/nephews and their families.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday at 11:30 AM at Corpus Christi Church, 2001 Route 9, Ushers, with burial to follow in St. Paul’s Cemetery, Mechanicville.
Visitation at the CHURCH on Monday from 9-11 AM.
In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to Alzheimer’s Assoc. or Saratoga Bridges in memory of Gerald M. Oswitt.
