MECHANICVILLE – Mrs. Norma Lucas Ingraham, 89, of Hemstreet Park, passed on Saturday, Aug. 22nd, with her children at her side at Schuyler Ridge, where she resided the past 3 ½ years.
Born Nov. 7, 1925, daughter of the late Edward and Ella Isles Lucas, she was a 1943 graduate of Mechanicville High School. A homemaker while her family grew, she returned to work as a bookkeeper for Royal Dyer Const. Co. and later for Dominick Dan Alonzo Const. Co. both of Mechanicville, retiring in 1994.
As a charter member of the Hemstreet Park Fire Dept. Ladies Auxiliary she served in different officer positions through the years. She helped feed firemen at long fire scenes and always helped out with the Election Day dinners and many other committees.
Norma served as secretary/treasurer for the Hemstreet Park Fire Dist. Board of Fire Commissioners for years.
After retiring, Norma and Duane took trips in their motor home across the country and spent many winter months in Florida.
She was predeceased by her husband of 59 years Duane “Abe” Ingraham who died in 2004, her son-in-law Ted Collins who died this past Aug. 1st, and granddaughter Katie Quinn.
Survivors include children: Larry and Ruth Ingraham and Janice Collins of Mechanicville and Diane and Tom Quinn of Ballston Lake, grandchildren: Debra (Edwin) Cho, Pamela Conner, Keith (Darlene) Collins, Aaron (Stacy) Collins, Bryan Collins and Kelly Quinn, along with great grandchildren: Keith II, Patrick, Nicole, Griffin, Lillian and Ian. Also her loyal sister Marjorie Combs of Kingston, along with nieces, nephews and their families.
Norma’s family would like to thank all the staff of Schuyler Ridge who gave special care to their Mom and those who were especially kind to them this past week.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday at Noon at All Saints on the Hudson Church, 121 No. Main St., Mechanicville. Burial in St. Paul’s Cemetery.
