MALTA – Thomas F. Kirby, 65, of Woodmint Place, passed away suddenly on Aug 2, 2015 at Saratoga Hospital. He was born on September 22, 1949 in North Adams, MA, son of Dorothy Kirby and the late John F. Kirby.
He is survived by his loving wife, Shannon Mullen Kirby of 38 years of marriage and his devoted dog “Zoie”, his brothers Michael (Melinda) Kirby, Daniel (Beverly) Kirby, Christopher Kirby, sisters Jennifer Kirby Hoag and Allison (Reid Lyons) Kirby, along with several nieces, nephews and a god child.
Thomas was a graduate of Drury High School, North Adams, MA and Erie Community College, Buffalo, NY. He served four years with the United States Navy.
He was employed with Great Lakes Laboratory at Buffalo State College followed by many years in the family moving business. He was the owner of Liberty Liquor and Avis Lube. His last employment before retirement was with US Food Service
He enjoyed boating on Lake Erie and Saratoga Lake along with vacationing in Cape Cod, MA, Lake Placid and Marco Island, FL.
His biggest enjoyment was his four loving dogs
A Burial service with military honors will be held at 12PM, Thursday, August 6th at the Saratoga National Cemetery. Friends are asked to be at the Visitors Center at 11:45 AM. There will be no calling hours.
In lieu of flowers, those wishing to remember Thomas in a special way are asked to donate to the Capital District Humane Association for the Love of Animals, PO Box 11330, Loudonville, NY 12211 in his memory.
