MECHANICVILLE - Mrs. Hazel Westfall Valetta, 86, of Broadway, died Saturday Dec. 27th after a short illness. Born in Glens Falls, Sept. 1, 1928, daughter of the late Charles and Minnie Morrison Westfall, Hazel grew up in Glens Falls, and lived all her married life in Mechanicville. She assisted her husband with the family business, John Valetta Sales for a number of years, and had also been a sales lady at the Boston Store.
An avid reader, Hazel enjoyed traveling, was interested in fashions, and proudly always looked her best. She was involved with both the Mechanicville and Malta Senior Citizens.
She was predeceased by her husband, John W. Valetta, who died in 1986, along with siblings Irma Clark, Charles Westfall, Jr., Shirley Granger, Lois Aurelia, Rowland, Gordon and Robert Westfall.
Survivors include her son John and Jane Valetta of Saratoga Springs, daughter Kimberly and Frank Scirocco of Mechanicville, grandchildren Zachary and Alexis Scirocco and great granddaughter Chloe Adams, along with in-laws, nieces and nephews.
Private Services held at the convenience of the family.
Burial in St. Paul’s Cemetery, Mechanicville.
