Obituary for Wanda M. Johnson

MECHANICVILLE – Wanda M. Markos Johnson, 86, of Johnson Road, died Friday June 11 at Albany Medical Center due to complications from a recent injury. Born in Cohoes on October 24, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Ignatius and Mary Markos and wife of the late Roman F. “Curly” Johnson who died in 1980.
A homemaker most of her life, Wanda was fortunate to have her three daughters live so close to her. She was able to spend a lot of time at “The Farm” with her girls.
She is survived by her daughters Linda Perez, Christine(John) Michaels and Robin(Dennis) Ceremuga all of Mechanicville as well as grandchildren Amy(Paul) DeMarco, Christopher Perez and John(Jodi) Michaels, Jr. Wanda also had three beautiful great grandsons: Michael and Matthew DeMarco and John Sergio Michaels, III.
She was predeceased by siblings: Rosemary, Lewis and Joseph Markos and Elaine Borden.
A Funeral Service will be celebrated on Monday at 9 AM at the Assumption-St. Paul Church, with burial in St. Paul’s Cemetery.
Calling hours at the DeVito-Salvadore Funeral Home, 39 So. Main St., Mechanicville on Sunday from 4-8 PM.
