MECHANICVILLE – Mrs. Edna H. Zullo, 85, former longtime resident of Mechanicville, died Monday April 8th at Wesley Health Care, Saratoga Springs, after a brief illness. Born in Watervliet, August 29, 1927, she was daughter of the late Leland and Alberta Hazzard, lived in Waterford and No. Troy while growing up. Edna worked at Bubble’s Restaurant in Mechanicville for a number of years. She also was a former president of the Meals on Wheels program in her city. A member and past president of the Mechanicville Area Senior Citizens and a bingo volunteer, Edna was also a member of the Mechanicville VFW Post 6328 Ladies Auxiliary and a former den mother for Troop 34, Boy Scouts of America. A communicant of Assumption-St. Paul Church and its Rosary Altar Society, Edna enjoyed knitting hats and mittens for the Project Kid program and baby hats for local hospitals. She enjoyed reading, jigsaw puzzles, and times spent with her children, grandchildren and their families. She was predeceased by her husband of 61 years, Anthony Zullo, Sr., sons Louis and Angelo Zullo, sisters Janet Chapman and Roberta Hazzard and brother Marvin Hazzard. Survivors include her children: Anthony, Jr. of Florida, Patrick of Texas, Kathryn (Allan) St. Onge of Clifton Park, Gloria Griffen of Saratoga Springs, Mary Ellen Zullo of Minnesota, Arthur of Mechanicville and Joseph of Plattsburgh. Also 5 grand and 10 great grandchildren and her sister Carrie (Val) Krupski of Cohoes, along with nieces, nephews and their families. Edna’s family expresses grateful thanks to the staff of Wesley (3 Springs) for the care, compassion and concern shown to Edna and family. Friends are invited to a burial service at St. Paul’s Cemetery, Harris Ave. Ext., Mechanicville on Friday, Apr. 12th at 1 PM. There are no calling hours.
