STILLWATER – Susan F. VanVranken, 75, of County Route 76, died Thursday morning at Albany Medical Center, following a short illness. Born in Ogdensburg, NY December 31, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Elizabeth Saxe Fulton. A Chazy High School graduate, Susan later earned her Nursing degree at the Albany Medical Center School of Nursing. She was a nurse at the Baptist Retirement Center for over 20 years before retiring in 2010. Susan enjoyed reading, her family, traveling and was a Baltimore Orioles fan. A devoted member of the Highway Tabernacle Assembly of God Church in Stillwater, she was very active in participating and planning many of the church’s events. Survivors include her husband of 54 years, Douglas J. VanVranken, whom she married November 7, 1959, her beloved children Beth(Gary) Brewster of Stillwater, Susan M. VanVranken of Clinton, NY and James(Michelle) VanVranken of Punta Gorda, Fl, grandchildren Kristen, Jonathan and Katelynn Brewster, Jessie and Kyle Howard and John VanVranken as well as her sister Jane Fulton Hess of Chazy, NY and several nieces and nephews. Susan was predeceased by her brother Robert Fulton. A Memorial Service will be celebrated on Sunday at 3PM at the Highway Tabernacle Assembly of God Church, 235 Hudson Avenue, Mechanicville, NY 12118. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the Stillwater Ambulance Fund, PO Box 584, Stillwater, NY 12170 or a charity of ones choice in loving memory of Susan F. VanVranken.
