Obituary for Helen Etoll

MECHANICVILLE - Ms. Helen Etoll, 94, formerly of Mechanicville, passed away peacefully on January 31st at the Eddy Memorial Geriatric Center on Burdett Avenue in Troy. She was the daughter of the late Charles and Rosa Etoll. Helen was a lifelong resident of Mechanicville and a graduate of Mechanicville High School. After caring for her mother for several years, she went to work for Juliette in Cohoes and was a buyer for the store. When Juliette closed, she went to work as a buyer for Timpane’s Jewelry Store in Cohoes until her retirement. Helen was predeceased by her brothers: Fred, Chester and James Etoll; sisters Victoria Eacy and Mabel Gildea; nieces Dorothy Eacy, Rhea Genest, Rosemary Gidea and her nephew Fred Etoll. She is survived by her nieces Kay Etoll, Faith(Dr. Thomas) Gill, Helen(A. Joseph) Mancuso, a nephew Charles(Patricia) Eacy and several grand nieces and nephews. Helens family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Terry and Kay Waldron as well as Starr Willetts for the care and compassion they showed to Helen over the years, and also to the staff at Eddy Memorial Geriatric Center, and Community Hospice, for the special care they provided to Helen while under their care. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday at 12 PM, at All Saints on the Hudson South Church, 121 No Main St., Mechanicville, NY 12118 with burial to follow at St. Paul’s Cemetery. Calling hours at the DeVito-Salvadore Funeral Home, 39 S Main St., Mechanicville on Sunday from 2-6 PM. Contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or your local Community Hospice in loving memory of Helen Etoll.
