Lawrence J. "Luke" Lucarelli Jr.
MELROSE - Lawrence “Luke” Lucarelli Jr., 80, longtime resident of River Rd, died peacefully at Samaritan Hospital on February 11th after a short illness. Born in Halfmoon, he was the son of the late Lawrence and Assunta Fagass Lucarelli, Sr.

After high school, Luke joined the US Navy and served honorably from 1955 to 1958.
He was the owner/operator of Town and Country Construction Co. in Melrose for many years until retiring in the late 2000’s. Prior to opening his own business, he was a longtime dedicated employee to the Royal Dyer Construction Co., Mechanicville, NY.

He was a member of the Mechanicville-Stillwater Elks Lodge 1403 and lifelong faithful member of All Saints on the Hudson Parish.

Luke enjoyed restoring old cars, working on and riding motorcycles, fishing, hunting and the great outdoors in general. He was also accomplished in leather working, creating wallets, belts, purses or other personal items that he shared with his loving family.

Sadly, Luke was predeceased by his loving wife of almost 50 years, Edith Carey Lucarelli, who died in 2009, a great granddaughter Elliana Lucarelli, and his siblings Ida Luciano, Gino Lucarelli and Mary Deets.

Survivors include his five children and their spouses: Philip(Colleen) Lucarelli and Larry Lucarelli of Melrose, Sandra(Joseph) McBride and Susan(Tony) Papandrea of Mechanicville, and Michael(Kelly) Lucarelli of Melrose; his loving grandchildren: Anthony, Nicholas, Teresa, Patricia, David, Stephen, Brody, Ashley, Christen, Amanda, Joey, Sabrina, twins Justin and Joshua, Ashley, Damian and Gabriella; cherished great grandchildren Sadie, Aden, Zoey, Logan, Haylee and Chase and his siblings Tony(Mary) Lucarelli, Anna(Sal) Ricciardone, Phyllis(Tony) Manzi, Angie(John) Glina, Alice Brown, and Susan(John) Wallace, sister in law Beverly(Dick) Fossett as well as numerous nieces, nephews and their families.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 9 a.m. at All Saints on the Hudson Church, 121 N Main St, Mechanicville with military honors and burial to follow in St. Paul's Cemetery.
