Obituary for James J. Richardson
MECHANICVILLE - James H. Richardson, Jr., 76, of So. Third Ave, died Wed., May 31st, at home, following a short illness.
Born in Mechanicville, Dec 9, 1940, son of the late James and Marion Aldrich Richardson, Sr., Jim was a 1958 graduate of Mechanicville High School. Weeks after his graduation, Jim proudly enlisted and served 4 years with the US Marine Corps.
Jim worked for many years with Carroll’s Corp., owners of Burger King franchises, and was a manager for the Lansingburgh restaurant for many years, before retiring.
Jim and his wife were garage sale hunters, always looking for just that right object, unwanted by someone, but treasure for someone else. He had a gift of buying and selling the RIGHT things. He was a longtime L.A. Dodger fan and Miami Dolphins fan, and always sported a welcoming smile and kind word to all.
Survivors include his wife of 54 years Margaret Tripp Richardson, his sister Ethel May Baisley of Mechanicville, brothers Edward (Judy) Richardson, Sr. of Fort Pierce, Fla and Thomas Richardson of Mechanicville, along with a number of nieces, nephews and their families. In addition to his parents, Jim was predeceased by his in-laws Joseph Baisley and Anne Marie Richardson.
Private services will be held at the convenience of family.
Burial with military honors at Saratoga National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the Clifton Park-Halfmoon Emergency Corps, 15 Crossing Blvd, Clifton Park, 12065, in fond memory of Jim Richardson.
